Background
This thoughtfully curated exhibition invited visitors to consider the history of daily staples, such as potatoes, tomatoes, and wheat, as well as the tools and rituals that define how we eat today. When did knives, forks, and spoons become part of the Swiss table? What did our ancestors harvest, cook, and share? How will climate, culture, and innovation shape what we consume in the future?
Public History collaborated with photographer Tina Sturzenegger to stage large, still-life dining scenes that recreated the dinner plates of both farmers and citizens from the 15th to the 21st century.
