Les Ambassadeurs

To celebrate 50 years of luxury watchmaking and fine jewellery, Public History developed the concept and historical narrative for an exclusive anniversary publication.

Les Ambassadeurs: Celebrating 50 Years of Timeless Elegance

To mark half a century of luxury watches and fine jewelry, Les Ambassadeurs wanted to both honour its rich heritage and look toward the future. A long-time employee had uncovered a remarkable collection of archival photographs from the 1970s. The company realized this visual treasure captured the pioneering spirit of its iconic Zurich flagship on Bahnhofstrasse.

Public History was commissioned to bring this legacy to life. Through meticulous research and in-depth interviews, we pieced together a compelling narrative spanning fifty years of innovation and design excellence. The archive revealed fascinating details, including the store’s futuristic architecture and Switzerland’s first escalator—a symbol of the brand’s forward-thinking ethos.

Along with the anniversary publication, Public History created a comprehensive digital image archive and an accompanying website, providing the company with a dynamic resource to preserve its past and inspire its future.

The project also played an unexpected role in historic building preservation efforts, demonstrating the enduring value of visual history in shaping identity and heritage.
